The Dove Queen
For centuries, the shape-shifting nations of the Aviante Doves and Hawks have known nothing but war. These beautiful men and women rule by air as well as by land, shifting when they please to test the skies and the limits of mother earth. But, one-by-one the Doves and Hawks are killing each other off in an age-old conflict that threatens to destroy the shape-shifting nations completely.
Adair Salomar is Princess Royal to the graceful Aviante Doves and she knows no peace. Her people are dying, her nation is in ruins, and her ruling council is fighting her for control of her kingdom. Her life is one of rules, regulations and order—in short; she lives in a gilded cage.
But no bird can be caged for long.
Dominion Weathermead is royal head to the Aviante Hawks; a more fearsome warrior there never was. In pursuit of some rogue hawks, he stumbles across and rescues a gravely injured dove. Her beauty is staggering; so too, are the secrets that she houses within her small but fierce-willed body.
And although history and nature demands that these two be enemies, neither can resist the passion that erupts whenever they are together. Now, in a race to against time, and in a desperate bid to stave off any further bloodshed, a fragile union is formed.
But will nature win out? Or, in a world of shifting loyalties, can a dove and hawk find love?
